When it first arrived it was extremely dull and lifeless and I was rather dissapointed, but after a bit of tweaking and replacing the strings it took on a whole new sound.
I bought this to take away to work and on holiday with as my Calico is a bit heavy and expe sive to be lugging about.
It now sounds loud and bright and just how I like it.
Fit a capo and tune to A and play devils dream it sounds wonderful.

As above, but the biggest contribution was a set of light strings.
Setup Rating: 8
Flawless craftmanship, rock solid maple construction and built like it will last for ever.
Bow tie inlays on the maple fret board and very effective steel tone ring.
This particular model is the Carolina King exclusive to Eagle music, with railway spikes fitted on the 7th 9th and the frets.

So glad with this purchase, really surprised about this little banjo, its excellent value for the money.
Its meant to be an entry/intermediate level banjo but I would have no problems playing as a second banjo.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a first banjo, I am sure it will provide years of reliable service.
