I just received this case this afternoon so no experience carrying it for extended periods, just a comment about quality. I needed a sturdy and protective case for my Deering John Hartford model and for the price I just do not see how this can be beat. The manufacturer must have been listening because the lid strap is a perfect length and neck support is great. My Hartford fit like a dream and I feel much better about the protection of my banjo. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

This case is good quality, cheap and light, it is well balanced with a solid handle and carries the banjo head up slightly. It is well constructed and feels strong. My main concern is the inadequate neck support which i plan to take out and re-design with a slightly longer internal compartment with lightweight wooden arches and appropriate foam support. the case looks great and is quite light, catches and hinges work well. As said by other people, the opening fabric 'stay' is a tad too short which is a pain but no big deal.

It is not a Carlton, but for the money is great. I prefer carrying it over my late 80's Gibson case- brown (probably TKl / Canadian made) it is lighter, feels sturdier and despite being white at least does not advertise its contents to tea leaves!

Overall, it feels better to carry, reflects light (white model), has some nice internal padding and looks like an accessory from a Star Wars Film (think Storm Trooper plastic uniform). At the Amazon.com price it is a bargain as long as you are not expecting perfection. If ANYONE FROM SUPERIOR / SAGA  is reading this plese note that the neck supports and lack of headstock padding is a poor design given the rest of the case UNLESS it is really meant to be very flexible in the middle. I would have thought that more solid and widely spaced neck supports would both protect the instrument and give some needed lateral rigidity.

In summary, i love it but will probably add some support internally to give a more 'belt and braces' feel to looking after my baby.

Case is well built. Lighter than my other case. Nice soft and cushioned interior. I believe they made some modifications to this case over the past year. Neck support is a lot better than it once was. The only thing they still need to improve is the length of the strap that holds the lid upright while open. It needs to be made a little longer so the lid won't shut unintentionally. I give this a 9. Time will tell, but so far so good!

The case seems to be very well built especially considering the price. I wasnt expecting it to feel so sturdy. The hardware looks to be decent quality and looks nice being powder coated( i guess) black. There are six latches that are well placed which keeps it closed up all nice and tight. The hinges seem to be built well enough and have fabric covers over them on the inside. The handle feels like it is made of rubber and seems like it will hold up well but I may replace it with a leather handle anyway. I like a some what soft squish like a leather upholstered handle has. There is a rubber gasket seal all the way around the banjo case that should keep dust and water out. The only thing I didnt like about the case is the lid stay is a little short so the lid barely stays up. While I was putting my banjo in the case for the first time the lid fell down and the edge of one of the latches put a nice gash in my neck. Now I know to be aware of that fact and it should not happen again. For the price paid though that is a small fixable issue and may not be present in all cases. Mine may have been shorter than others. The banjo fits perfectly and feels very secure( it told me so). It closes just fine with my strap attached which has a shoulder pad. The pocket inside is smaller than on some cases but plenty big for a tuner, some, picks, some gorilla snot, and room to spare. Handle placement is good for my banjo and the case seems well balanced with banjo inside. The straps came in a fancy velvet baggy and didnt seem as cheap as some have said but I will not be using them anyway. Nice rubber feet placed where you would need them and should keep the case from sliding around on the floor. Over all I am thoroughly impressed with this case I would definitely recommend it upon first impressions but only time will tell if it is really built well and will hold up through years or decades of use. My thanks to the good folks at Banjo.com for a great price and fast shipping on my new case.
