Bridges  Buulfrog bridge- Banjo Part/Accessory Reviews

I purchased the Bullfrog 3-in-1 bridge in an attempt to simplify the changes necessary with my long neck when using or not using a capo and going from frailing to two finger to three finger playing styles. This bridge meets those needs perfectly! The action can be raised or lowered by simply and quickly moving the strings to one of the three heights and they require a minimum of re-tuning in the new location. I couldn't be more pleased with the bridge!

Virgil Lawson offered those with radiused fret boards to try his radiused bridges. I ordered mine for an RB-12 which is 12" radiused fretboard. Virgil was offering 14" radius. This one was custom made by Virgil.

The original was a Grover. The instrument was bought New/Used. In other words, it had been sitting in its case for nearly 7 years. The switch was easy with the added surprise that the string spacing was for Crow. Fantastic. With the Bullfrog in place, customizing its placement was much easier than with the Grover. Playing the banjo was much better with the BuulFrog. I am including a Youtube video which will allow you to listen for the difference between the two. At 2.0 oz., this is now my main bridge. I recommend Virgil's craftsmanship with His bridges. The notes seem clearer on the low end than before. This is a very good enhancement to any radiused fretboard banjo.

I just replaced my Washburn bridge with one of Virgil Lawsons
Bullfrog bridges and I'm so glad I did. Banjo is so much brighter sounding now from top to bottom, and as a bonus I
found that it's easier to play because I'm not fighting to get the
volume and tone I want. Try it, you'll like it!

This bridge is awesome. I bought two, gently compensated, 2.0 g bridges. One 11/16, and one .656. The 11/16 went on my 03 golden era and instantly opened it up, and improved the tone all over the neck. The really great thing is that the respoonsiveness is just amazing, it makes playing up the neck easy and sounds great. Then you go down the neck and have unlimited growl and all the bite you need. I had a snuffy smith on before so it was no slouch, but now it is just amazing. This bridge will make any banjo come alive.(tried it on a bottlecap, goodtime, and 93 flatiron, and ALL were improved) BUY ONE!!!
