I bought this for stroke-style/ minstrel banjo. It sounds deep, resonant, and loud. I played a few clawhammer songs on it too, and it sounds nice and mellow played in this style.

The action was a bit high for my taste, but I didn't specify how high I would like the action, so that's my fault really. I have made no changes to the setup.

Even though the neck is maple and the rim is oak, it still looks pretty good. The flush-frets Eric installed are flawless, and so are the dot position markers.

The brass tension hoop is hand made, as it must be since the pot is 13", and I think Eric did a good job on it. The hooks and shoes are standard issue, and are good quality.

Eric is terrific to deal with. I sent him so many emails, but he replied to all of them promptly and provided great information. The shipping is fast and for a low price, which amazed me.

Eric installed mechanical friction tuners on my banjo. They were inexpensive so they're not the best but they work just fine. I like the tailpiece Eric makes, it's simple to use and attractive. Also the ebony nut is a good feature.

I'm very happy with my Prust banjo; I play it more than my other banjos, I like it so much. I think they're a tremendous deal. The tensioning feature is worth the extra that Eric charges for it over the basic tackhead model, in my opinion. He also placed the flush-frets with dead on accuracy. I'm very impressed.
