It has a loud, rich and full sound, and it is great for the type of playing I do which is basicly old tin pan alley stuff.
The pot is a Whyte Laydie pot which is a full 3" deep and it has a nice full bass response

I believe I am the third owner and it had been taken apart, some pieces were lost, and the reassembly wasn't very good.
I am not going to rate the setup, but for $300 including a like new hard case plus $25 for shipping and another $25 or so for parts it was a steal

Really nice looking. Antique Brown gloss brown finish. Maple neck, sunburst 13" very curly maple resonator, Really well done hearts and flowers inlay.
It was made in February 2001, and there are just a few minor dings and scratches and some small spots of corrosion on the tone ring skirt-at first glance it looks like new.
At some point the resonator blocks were badly reglued by one of the previous owners. I was able to clean up the mess and now it is fine. 1 point off for that

Really good hardware, the tuners are very good-no slippage and they are very smooth. The finish is excellent. Since it is over 10 years old and it has been messed around with I would say that it is extremely reliable.
Reliability Rating: 10
I ordered the missing parts from Goldtone, and their response was vey fast and helpful.
Customer Service: 10
All of the parts are very good. The plating is very nice except on the tonering skirt where it seems a bit thin. The parts fit is excellent.
Components Rating: 9
This is a great banjo, even at the going street price of around $800.
