Well, I met Arnold several months ago when he purchased a Bilt-Rite banjo capo from me. We have become fast friends since then. Arnold is the maker of The Pyramid Banjo that's out there right now for purchase. ( by the way > these are GREAT banjos ) I wanted to try his PreWar style 2 - legged bridge that I had been hearing so much about from my good buddy and expert luthier Don Bryant. Arnold got the bridges to me just in time to celebrate my birthday, ( and Bill Monroe's ) on September 13. >>> WOW, WOW, WOW is all I've got to say about them. They sound fantastic and look so cool at the same time. They beefed up the tone & volume and look TOTALLY PreWar !!! I just love these bridges and they look and sound so great on a banjo. I HIGHLY suggest these for your banjo and Arnold is one cool guy !!! A great gentleman to do business with. He is SO KNOWLEDGEABLE about banjos as he's been making banjos and bridges and such for over 20 years. He's tried EVERYTHING and completely understands all the magical STUFF that goes into banjo knowledge. Treat yourself to one of these UNIQUE banjo bridges.

Great bridge !!!
The note separation and clarity is phenomenal, not to mention the cool PW two-legged heart shape. He makes these from 100 year old salvaged maple and Holly ( I believe that's what he told me), anyway, great bridge.
Contact Arnold for these folks, gonna post a pics of them on my homepage.

I got this bridge from Arnold at Banjothon in January and forgot I had it!
Have recently put together a style RB-00 cut with a Clayton pyramid tone ring and I had a Snuffy on it and it sounded good but when I tried Arnold's bridge I was blown away by the extra note clarity and note separation that it produced.
I immediately ordered more of these bridges from him today!
They look very similar to the heart shaped prewar bridges you see on the old tenors and a few 5 strings.
So they have a prewar look to them as well as producing great tonal qualities.
I highly recommend them....you won't be disappointed.

I am very impressed with the 2 footed bridge Arnold Clayton made for me in a 9/16" height ... swapped out the bridge and was extremely happy with the volume and clarity of tone improvement ....he has really found some good maple to build these out of ...plus the old style design looks correct on this mid 20's banjo ..

If you are setting up your banjo and are test driving different bridges, you might want to try the 2-footed bridges that Arnold Clayton is building. I have three of them and have been impressed with the tone and consistency I am getting with them. I have tried them on several of my banjos and they have sounded really good on each one. I have had one of them on a banjo for about a year with no sagging problem. Arnold (aclayton) is a member here on the HO. Give his bridge a try. I think you will like it.
