I like bluegrass music. I was thnking this was the one as it is a beautiful banjo.
Sound Rating: 3
The banjo was not setup properly and I have spent many weeks tweaking . The action was too high, The bridge was a big clunky piece of wood.I completely disassembled the banjo. The tone ring had oblivously been driven on the rim with a rubber hammer. After finally getting it off I sanded the rim for a couple of hours to make the ring fit properly then reinstalled everything and set the coordinator rods properly.Replaced the bridge with a snuffy smith w/crowe spaceing. Tightened the head consider ably and the banjo finally began to play.

This is a beautiful banjo. They obviously spent all their time on flash and none on playability

The banjo tuners are lacking with lots of slack in their gears. Hard to tune precisely.

Cheap bridge. Cheap tuners, Bad tailpiece.

I would not recommend this banjo as I bought it. I would go with Gold Star or Gold Tone. The money is not that much difference. This banjo is basically as I see it a Fender FB.59 they look and sound the same. But with a few more frills.
