Recording King  RB-R80 Banjo Reviews

Where Purchased: Fitch Banjos

Year Purchased: 2009
Price Paid: 1,100.00 ($US)

Sound is fantastic. I played a RK maple before and couldn't really find a local RK mahogany to play so I was a little worried. I shouldn't have been - this thing sounds great! Could not be better!

Sound Rating: 10

Setup perfectly by Cliff Fitch. He set it up exactly as I requested - new Cox Maple Rim, Wadsworth bridge and the strings I requested. He also set the action exactly as I requested. There is no way you could get the extensive setup that Cliff does anywhere else for the price he charges. He is first class!

Beautiful - mahogany neck and resonator. I thought I really wanted the flamed maple resonator - that sunburst was really calling to me. But I'm so glad i went with the mahogany - it is truly beautiful wood. And the binding and headstock on these RK's is awesome. My banjo teacher loves it too.

Appearance Rating: 10

I think this banjo will last me the rest of my life.

No better in the world than dealing with Cliff Fitch - I highly recommend!

As mentioned before, the headstock on these is beautiful and the binding showing so wide on the fingerboard and continuing all around the headstock is really beautiful. I don't think I'll need to upgrade anything - ever.

Just could not be more pleased with my choice. I can't stand that I have to work all day instead of picking it. I could spend 12 hours a day with this banjo, but work gets in the way. I don't think there is a better banjo for the money in the world. Now, if I could have afforded more, I may have looked at the Scout, but this was as much as I could afford and I think I got the most I could ever hope to get for my money.
