I have been researching for some time for quality D-Tuners for my Huber. When I ordered the banjo from Steve I decided not to have tuners put on the rig until I found exactly what I wanted. As I researched it seemed the most common choice in tuners lacked ease of use, requiring some fidgeting to re-tune. Then I discovered The Mighty D-Tuner by Ron Wedekind.
I contacted Ron via his website and asked him about his MDT set-up. Within a short time I received an email from him and he answered each of my questions. Satisfied it was the tuner set-up I had been looking for, I placed an order & awaited my package.
Upon receipt of the package I was immediately impressed with the quality of the tuner. Packaging was well thought out and included thorough installation instructions. Everything necessary for installation was included (as well as an extra piece of 3M VHB double-sided tape) and in a very short period of time I had my new tuner installed and my banjo tuned.
I've been playing with it now for about a week and am increasingly impressed with this set-up. The MDT has a small 'footprint' with only two small brass tubes coming around the peghead so as not to impair the appearance of my rig. The tuners have a smooth and consistent 'throw' and once the intial set & tune is complete, they simply have not required re-tuning.
I am very pleased with The Mighty D-Tuner and with Ron's service & support.
