I love the weight, sound and look. Its like Pete Seeger's in terms of the extra length and three frets. My old banjo was 12 lbs. and hard on the shoulder! Also it often was too loud. At 2 lbs thsi very cool banjo feels like a feather. The sould is very good, never too loud and the action is better than on my older more expensive banjo. Sy photo in my profile

It was set up but you can get it in a kit and save $50. The action is easier than my old more expensive banjo.

Go the the wesite "backyardmusic.com for the wood description. No custom inlays etc. No flaws at all. The plainness of it is what I like very much. Gives it a VERY distinct look. (see my profile picture)

I would go on a gig without a backup. It is new so I can't say how it will hold up. My sense is that it will wear well.

Just got it. Quite friendly as it is a two person company.

Nothing to be upgraded. If you wat you could have inlay work done to the neck.

I was looking for a light banjo with good sound, Seeger length neck. This fits the bill!
