The sound is exactly what I was looking for in a clawhammer banjo. The 12"pot really gives a good tone and rich sound without so much of the metallic sounds.

The BC350+ has the fancy inlay and gold plated hardware. It's a beautiful instrument and will have to wait some time to see how the hardware ages. I hope that it gets a burnished patina.

Fit and finishis excellent. Joints are tight and looks like is built like a tank but it is not so heavy that it's uncomfortable to hold and play.

I will reserve judgement on the hot dog style armrest to see how it feels in the hot summer with sleveless shirts but with sleves it is OK.

I purchased a $99 starter banjo off craigslist used and happy that I did. I went to the John C Campbell Folk School for a beginner clawhammer class and after talking to folks and doing research I chose the BC350+. Totally happy with it and the deal I got from Ross at banjoteacher.com.
