Here I've used another flat rule (removed before shooting the photo) to align the bases of the action gauge and the rule that I'm comparing it to. When compared this way, the action gauge is even further off from when I start by aligning the first 1/8 marks. You can see that the 7/8-in mark (.875) is even beyond 15/16 (7/8 on the action gauge is more than half way between 7/8 and 1 inch on the rule). The metal rule accurate.
