Let's say I think "MAYBE" I'm the first one to do this, this century. Cabinetmakers call this a "buildup", from Roman times, ancient. VERY sturdy, very tonal, musical and loud. Cut on a 45 deg. bias, 3" deep = 4.24" grain run. 74% solid block without the drawbacks like warpage, delamination. I play these things, I'm very happy, if they didn't work, I wouldn't be interested.
