Spine Saver, ready to mount and go.

Posted 11/22/2011 9:01:38 AM

Sanded a flat spot, so the drill bit could get started easily. Dab of glue on the threads of a skinny bolt (although, to protect agains scratching, a wooden or plastic peg could serve as well). Cut the hooks off the bungee, knotted it to the snap rings. end of the stake through the knot, and the rod will keep it from slipping any further down. Clip the snap rings to the J-hooks, and you're all set. The stake can take several pounds off of your shoulders. I thought of ONE possible improvement: Use hollow tent poles for the rod, and you can fold it up so it's not any longer than your case. Then you can velcro-strap it around the case. One less thing to carry.
