Wrapped masking tape around the ring, marked off where the neck and tailpiece would be, marked where the first an last lugs would be on each side, used the dressmaker's tape (metric side) to measure the distance, divided that by the number of brackets, set the divider to that measure, and went dot-dot-dot until everything was evenly spaced.
