I saw Lester Flatt Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys 5 or 6 times, all in relatively small gymnasium venues and always going back to the locker rooms to hangout and hear them play up close and personal. Back then, they provided their own sound system (the tiny floor monitors looked completely worn out) and the band members sold their tickets at the door (I remember walking in entry to the gym in Calico Rock, AR and there was Jake Tullock and Paul Warren selling tickets, they were the roll-up perforated small red ones)
