TOTW 6 March 2026: The Baltimore Fire
This is an exercise on the current old time tune of the week on the hangout 3/11/26 Baltimore fire. It is a Blues/ragtime version ala Gus Cannon. Creative and jazzy! Can you put lyrics fro The Baltimore Fire to this? I don't actually know the TOTW song well enough yet to hear that in my head.

I do. In the 60s everyone who was involved with old time banjo knew this song. If I get more courage maybe I will do a vocal quickly

Again it is funny to me insofar as when I came around old time music in the 1960s, everyone knew this song. As I think I posted, each of the original New Lost City Ramblers Mike, John, and Tom told me separately that this was the most requested song when they toured together in the 60s before Tom left for England.
It seems so odd that people do not know this song, I will try to get to it this afternoon I used to sing a a lot when I just played the guitar, but singing in public has declined since I became a banjoist.
