When I ordered a custom banjo from Carolina Banjo I asked Ryan Navey, an artistic luthier, to carve the dove on my necklace. It was so exciting that I wrote this tune, no less in a unique tuning gGGAD.

Beautiful and inspiring. You've inspired me to expiriment with that tuning now. Thanks for posting your original piece.

Thank you. The 4th string is floppy when tuned so low, but a short scale banjo seems to handle it. If you’d like tab for the tune just let me know. Simply exploring is a great idea!

I like the tune and the tuning. I can imagine the dove taking off.

Very cool. I often use a similar tuning on acoustic guitar: DADGAD. Seemingly everything played in this tuning sounds beautiful...and your tune is a perfect example...just the strings are in a slightly different order. Yet another gorgeous original...when do you sleep? : )

I like it. It's calm and melodic and not frantic. I could listen to it all day. Thanks.

Glad you like it, strato and vega, thanks much. My secret — I play while watching TV!
