Its lyrics were changed for a gold rush era play: Down in the gold camp of old Rough and Ready I fell in love with a gal with blue eyes. Nighttime would find me in Susan's great kitchen Drinking fine coffee and munching on pies. Etc.

Thanks, Greg. How's your 3-finger picking coming along? Your clawhammer is quite accomplished.

I need to work on some 'up-the-neck' stuff. I got real lazy on that when started clawhammer years and years ago. Thanks for asking and for the compliment!!
Enjoy your music...

Thank you for the great downloads you have given us. It is a pleasure to hear you play. Are there tabs available for your downloads? Really enjoy all you have done.

Thanks, Michael, for listening. Just wanted to let you know that age is not a factor in learning and enjoying, as I know from my own husband's experience. Your teacher can show you many things and you can learn them if you work at it!

where could i get tab for that
Tuesday, March 27, 2012 @4:45:02 PM
I haven't tabbed this yet, but if you're chord-friendly and can play closed chords up-the-neck, I can tab this (given a bit of free time) for you.

Thank you for the quick response it is very much appreciated , I just love your playing and look forward to the tabs thank you again

You're welcome. Quick, I am. The tab is now done! But I won't be able to scan it until Thursday or Friday, then post it on my photos. It's a good reminder of how to play it because, come April, play rehearsal begins again and it will be needed. It's a funny version if you hear the lyrics.

Wow! One of my favorite songs of all time. Your arrangement is beautiful and natural. Makes it sound like it was a banjo tune all along. Thanks for sharing.
