Amazing this is your "go-to" tune. I learned a note I was missing by listening to you! The tune was already familiar to me, but I hadn't tried it until today. Is it a tune used in Civil War re-enactments?

I’ve heard it used that way, though it’s not as common as many others.
I kind of mess around with some of the notes, taking care mostly to just get the timing right. Sometimes I play (like I did in the video) a hammered-on note in about the 2nd measure or so, sometimes I just play the open 1st String. Just depends on if I can get enough volume for the hammer-on in the environment I’m playing in.
What keeps me from needing to have a fancy go-to tune (to feel smart about myself) is remembering how One of Dwight’s favorite tunes was Walking in the Parlour, a non special tune if there ever was one. It’s the feeling it has and what you can give it, not just the notes.
