I think this is the one I did with low-tuned nylon strings on a plectrum (unless it's a 4-string cello banjo; can't remember for sure).

Here is a demonstration of some of the possible tuning ranges of the 4-string cello banjo. I'm playing a Gold Tone CEB-4. Irish tenor/octave mandolin tuning: GDAE Cello tuning: CGDA Double Octave: GDAE (one octave lower than Irish tenor) Cycling through, in the above order, I play a major scale before Cooley's Reel, followed by Cluck Old Hen. The whole theatrical routine takes 6.5 minutes. I'd be very interested in hearing your response.

Still tagging onto my 4-string cello banjo thread on the 4-string forum. As the title implies I don't know much about these tunes, just like to play them.

One of my original guitar compositions with Carla on tenor recorder. There's a bit of banjo and other stringed things in the mix. It's in DADGAD tuning.

Played on a mandola-type lute made by Stefan Sobell which I strung to play as a 5-string banjo. Draper's Maggot is an English Country Dance Tune in 3/4 time; first appears in 13th edition of the Playford's Dancing Master (1706). I found Draper's Maggot in Michael Raven's One Thousand English Country Dance Tunes, written in D; I'm playing it in key F using fCFCD tuning. The word "maggot" derives from the Italian magioletta, meaning a plaything or something of slight or small consequence. Hope you enjoy. Please join in the discussion on Sound Off. Thanks for listening. PauL banjocrazy.com

4-string cello banjo capoed on 2nd. I've posted this on Playing Advice: 4-String (Tenor & Plectrum) Styles along with over examples of 4-string cello banjos played in different ranges. Here's the link if you'd like to hear the other tunes and join the discussion. http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/246968 pauL banjocrazy.com
