Here's a couple of short drop C tunings using the old counter top bridge wood.

I did some noise removal on this one and I think it helped to bring out the banjo a little better.

I love this song and though I can't sing it or play it that well, I wanted to try out a new curly ambrosia red maple bridge. I just purchased this wood and so far I love it. I love these low tunings.

This version has thunder through out the song....though not very pronounced. I haven't figured out how to import an mp3 into Reaper yet.

I've always liked this song from Jim Mills " My Dixie Home" album.

I thought I'd record this tune and mess around with some effects in Adobe Audition. I'm playing my mahogany style 3 copy banjo on this cut.

Thanks to Rock and Jim Reed for the inspiration to learn this tune. Both of their pre war banjos are to die for...especially in D tuning. Their playing abilities are to die for as well. Jim's recording on his cd sounds just like Sammy Shelor with his RB12.

I re-recorded this one and used the curly maple banjo with some added bass.

This is the cutting board hard maple bridge on my Kalamazoo tenor conversion. My bass track is just a smidgen behind time.

This is a short Jim Mills version using the old hard maple cutting board bridge. I'm playing my curly maple with RK rim/TN20 ring. Excuse the flubs and out of tune 3rd string. I got tired of re-recording it over and over, so I took what I could get. Lol!

I re-profiled my new RB-00 neck. It was just a little too chunky and I needed to roll the sidewalls in a little more as well. I think it sounds better now with the slimmer profile. Here's a quick short break from Ron Stewart's "I'll Be Waiting". This is not note for note the way Ron plays it. This is just my own interpretation of his break. Nothing fancy but just trying to play what I hear. I'm using a gym floor bridge in this recording.

My first attempt at melodic playing. It's painfully slow and has mistakes but I'll keep pluckin' along until I can build up speed.
