The origin of Cripple Creek is unknown, but many musicians believe the song is named after Cripple Creek, Virginia. The song doesn't seem to date further back than the year 1900. I made this backing track for the classic banjo favorite, Cripple Creek. Dave Hum did it in the key of A. I have made backing tracks for both the keys of A and G for you. Enjoy!

These are two of my favorite songs to play on the banjo. Both songs are of unknown origin dating back to at least the 1800's. They are both popular fiddle songs. This backing track is done in the key of G. I used Dave Hum's recording as a template to make this backing track. This backing track is at woodshed speed to learn.

Dave Hum recorded a beautiful hybrid of two different songs: 'Devil's Dream and Blackberry Blossom.' Although I love playing both songs together, sometimes I just enjoy playing Devil's Dream by itself. So, I have made a backing track just for Devil's Dream. I made backing tracks in the keys of both A and G for your preference.
