I have an old homemade banjo that surprisingly enough sounds really sweet and resonant. Whoever built it di a great job.
I have an eclectic taste in music. I like Flatt and Scruggs, J.D. Crowe, Ricky Scaggs (and that's just naming a few. I also like Bela Fleck (although I have no aspirations of ever acheiving that level of skill!) I am into alternative country, roots rock and blues. I am very interested in the many ways that banjo can be applied to these genres.

I have been a Tulsa musician for about 30 years. I play bass, and guitar, write songs and sing. I am currently bassist for a local blues rock trio known as Rattletrap. I started playing banjo in 1999 (I have always loved the banjo) and drove my kids insane learning to play. I have not played in about three years because of other musical projects in which I have been involved. I have decided to pick it back up with a vengence. My former teacher is no longer giving lessons, but rather is devoting his time to making his own line of banjos. This is great for him, but not so much for me. Looks like I am on my own. Need all the help and advice I can get, as I would like to move to the next level skillwise!
