Playing Since: 2014
Experience Level: Just Startin'
Occupation: retired radio broadcaster
I've been experimenting with ukulele, concertina, tin whistle, mountain dulcimer and torturing some other folk instruments. Love the sound of old time banjo and look forward to trying it out.
Richard Thompson, Boys of the Lough, Pete Seeger, Happy Traum, Jean Richie - my taste in music is pretty broad, but especially like traditional folk music.

Now retired, I worked in radio all my life. Was lucky to work at some eclectic stations in the 70's and 80's that broadened my music appreciation. Just moved to Oregon which I love. Spent many years in New England. Rheumatoid arthritis became an issue in the past few years, and have had some damage to fingers and wrists, but I really want to learn to play music now that I have time to practice, and have been searching for instruments that I can handle ergonomically that I also enjoy. Just ordered an open back banjo and will try to learn clawhammer.
