Summer time is nearly here!

Saturday, June 19, 2010 @10:17:28 AM

Why is the very first post of any blog you do the most daunting? At any rate,it's been a mix of yardwork, running my online biz,and reuniting with my 6 string Estrada Banjo. I have a 5 string that's been in a storage unit for years,am hoping to get it out soon, but as it's in the very back of the unit I'm having to wait until friends & family are in the mood for an excavation to go get it. Items in front of it are simply too big & too heavy for me to move on my own. However,I am enjoying rediscovering the 6 string after not playing it for a long time. And it's nice to see my guitar playing skills aren't going to waste. I play mandolin, uke and am learning fiddle, plus knocking around with tinwhistle. So refreshing to find so many people are multi instrumentalists here at Banjo Hangout.

Gardening wise I had purchased 4 bare root roses at Big Lots of all places, and they did an additional $1 discount in order to move em out quickly. Much to my surprise, all 4 are now thriving and this one is a spectacular color. A deep red rose was pictured on the bag but this looks like a deep apricot color. I'll have to post a pic so you all can see it. Another activity I enjoy is feeding hummingbirds. I'm looking forward to getting to know the people here,so don;t be afraid to say hi! I'm also on Twitter  @MandolinChick.
