I've been playing with a bluegrass band from Elberton, Georgia recently. Their name is "Waitin' On Parts" and I am going to be playing clawhammer banjo with them tomorrow here in Athens at the Melting Point. I usually play 3-finger style, but tomorrow I'll be playing several songs in clawhammer with Allan McCall who will be picking 3-finger style. The two styles compliment eachother really well. We'll do some old traditionals, just the two of us on our banjos during part of the show. The rest of the band will play the majority of the show with Allan McCall playing banjo lead.
My radio show, Bluegrass Junction, will continue for 3 more weeks. If you'd like to hear it, go to www.wuog.org or tune your radio to 90.5 FM WUOG if your're in north Georgia on Sundays from 10am-12pm. My show will resume sometime in early August when school starts back. It will most likely have a different time shift then, so don't worry.
