I am not old, but I guess I am old fashioned. I do not believe in pre-maritals because I think that if you feel you need one, then you already know that this is not the right person for you to marry. To me, these agreements say "Let's plan on divorce at some point. If we stay together, fine, but let's plan for a divorce just in case." And even though the stated reason for these agreements is to protect ones possesions "in case of divorce", I believe they sometimes "cause divorce" because all the paperwork is already done. It is much easier to simply get a divorce instead of working out the difficulties in the marriage. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
