Update on my bio: We retired, sold our home, and moved from Southern California to the panhandle of Idaho on Dec 2, 2011. It took us two years to do this, but we are finally here.. In the process, we had to sell our home and business, pack them both up, build a new house, unload (in the middle of one of the biggest snowstorms of the winter), and unpack (we're still at that part) It has taken two years to finish the house, but now we're down to trim and cabinets. We have great friends up here that have contributed so much of their time in helping us that we have been truly blessed.
I just recently attended a workshop in Portland, OR taught by Murphy Henry. It was worth the $ and the many miles driving over there and back. Murphy's love of the banjo and teaching is contagious enough to get me to dust my banjo off, tune it up, and not worry about quitting for two years, let alone playing with a group outside my "closet". My fingers may take some time to recall the "muscle memory" that they were supposed to be working on. (Do fingers get dementia?)

Well congratulations! I think the fingers get stubborn and lazy, but I can't remember the dementia. ;) lol
