Well, to anybody who is interested I wish I'd started years ago. (Don't we all). Was bought a book for Christmas Called O'Carolan for the 5 string Banjo by Ron Hughes. The Pieces that he has chosen are fantastic. I have now started to learn the wonderful tune called Baptist Johnson which for me is a real step up in class and right out of my comfort zone. I have found that with this instrument it appears to be slowly softly catch a monkey but what a frustrating instrument this is. 90% of the time it appears to be 2 forward 1 back and I just want to throw in the towel.Occasionally I hit it and it sounds not too bad. I love Irish Music and hopefully this will give me an opportunity to learn some cracking tunes and then enjoy the Craic!!!
