I finally broke down and scooped my goodtimes neck. Its not the prettiest scoop, in fact i think i may have taken it up to far. oh well, I'll have to fill in the hole where the fret inlay was later. Anyway, it works and i'm glad i did it. When i first got a banjo i was scared to tweak anything. Now having done a few modifications, I have a new appreciation for a banjos set up and construction.
i used a $7 1/2" wood rasp and some sand paper from lowes. When i finished my arms were killing, and it was hard to enjoy my work. It's taking a little getting use to but i like playing over the neck. I think this concludes my banjo modifications....at least until its time to get a new head.2 comments
