I'm a semi-retired electrical engineer, still doing some consulting for the energy industry. My wife and I moved to CO from San Francisco Bay Area 8 years ago. I played classical and flamenco guitars for many years. In 2007 I had rotator cuff surgery on the right shoulder and I took up the Irish Tin Whistle because I love the modal nature of Celtic tunes. Then I discovered the banjo while at the Deering factory in San Diego . I wish I had discovered it years ago! I'm drawn to clawhammer style more than bluegrass, probably because of my love for folk music and my background in non-amplified instruments. But I like it all. I'd like to meet some folks nearby who share an interest in claw hammer banjo. We live in Lafayette CO, just outside of Boulder.
