Playing Since: 2021
Experience Level: Novice

Occupation: Retired

Gender: Male
Age: 67

My Instruments:
Guitar, ukulele and now hopefully banjo.

Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Too many to list ranging from 1950s R & R, 1950s Country/Rockabilly or even heavy bands like Bad Company, Deep Purple, Canned Heat, CCR.

It's all music that I like to play on my guitars as well as listen to.
As far as listening goes, I have a very eclectic musical taste which ranges from the genres I've mentioned to classical ( think Mozart et al)

Was a full time pro touring solo vocalist-guitarist for 14 years from my late teens then gave up due to being on the road for up to 40 weeks/up to 250 gigs per year and decided that was it for me with regard guitars. I'd been there done that and got the tee-shirt and got what I wanted out of the industry. However after all those years I finally got back into playing guitar over the past 4 years and have built my own home recording studio and collected 11 guitars, a tenor ukulele and various amps but now I want to play banjo so I can record with it. I recently bought a used Vintage brand 6 string banjo (quite basic but OK) which is in very reasonable condition but needs a full sort out. I'm in the process of servicing, re-stringing it and setting it up to my own playing preferences much as I've done with my guitars. I'm virtually a novice at playing a banjo hence choosing a 6 stringer which is not too unlike playing a guitar but I'll most likely also go in for learning a 5 string model too once I've got into it.
