HUMILITY
A stick is humble.
Paint on a wall is humble.
A little bit of broken down grass
in the back yard is humble.
Even a bit of garbage
floatin around.
A clump of mud is humble.
Me,
I ain't humble.

My first instrument is the guitar, but I started playing banjo in about 1986 because we needed a banjo player in the band I was in. I've been learning on my own ever since. I play both three finger and clawhammer, which has probably not been a good thing, since it cuts my practice time on both in half. I have repeatedly " settleed on one style", only to repent a few days later. So, I keep working at both. I am currently in a trio called J.D. Miner. We write all of our own stuff. It's sort of oldtime, jazzy, whatnot. We've uploaded a few of our songs on our website jdminer.com Since one of our guys has moved too far away to do small gigs, we're now doing a duo as well. We call it Kleiner Miner" ( smaller in German ) . Our theme ? "Eine Kleine Miner Music". Stand up bass and banjo. Very fun indeed.
