Built my first "banjo" from a tennis racket and a camping pot and fishing line and screweyes when I was around 20 years of age(parents when berserko)..... Met banjo player/collector Reed Martin in DC around 1970 and saw his collection. That did it... Moved to Vermont and became a full time luthier and oldtime banjo maker. Played with George Ainley in the Corn Dodgers for a few years, mostly tenor banjo. Played with Jim Burns and Will Dicker, mostly 5 string and some fiddle. Played in Bogstompers as the fiddler. Past few years I am collecting and building small banjos..... under 24 inches total length for most of them.
