Just moved to Maine

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Hello everyone, My wife and I just moved to Maine after 20 years in Pennsylvania. We are currently renting a place in Brewer but have found a permanent home in Pittsfield that we hope to be in by early September. I really want to buckle down and learn the clawhammer style of banjo. I tried finger picking but after playing the bass without a pick for all of these years, I need to feel the strings on my fingertips. Anyway, if anyone knows of a good clawhammer banjo player who want to teach this old a dog, I would greatly appreciate it. 5 comments

I am just learning clawhammer banjo after 20 years of playing the bass. It is a new and exciting challenge for me. I found a GREAT teacher who is exposing me to all types of techniques and styles that I never thought of learning but still focusing on the clawhammer style.
