I love to play the banjo
in a fine, and old-time way.
In hot weahter, cold weather, even in the snow,
I love to play the 5-string wherever it is I go!
I love to play the banjo late into the night
sometimes all the way until..............daylight!
I love to play at the fiddlers' convention
and at the square dances, too,
playing the banjo is enjoyment, simple, plain and true.
Clawhammer's my style
I keep WPAQ, 740 AM, on my radio dial.
Emily, Enoch, Harold B. and Larry P
have all been great banjo pals to me.
So, wherever I go, whatever I do
I take my banjo with me, and I hope you all do, too.

I started playing the banjo after sustaining a knee injury playing softball. My main teachers have been Emily Spencer, Harold B. Hausenfluck, and Larry Pennington. I have played with several bands including The Fox Creek Ramblers, The Farmers' Daughters, The Virginia Whistlepigs, The Glade Valley Spring Chickens, The Donavan Cain and Trish Kilby Old-Time Bluegrass Duo, The Blue Ridge Mountain Ramblers, and The Mount Rogers Ramblers. Currently I am a member of the Oldtown Revelers old-time band, based out of Sparta, NC. I have also played rhythm guitar with a few other groups on an irregular basis. I love both old-time and bluegrass music. I enjoy playing at fiddlers' conventions and community events.
