I got a new to me banjo last week and can't stop playing it. It is a Recording King RK R82. I did a set up on it to fit my liking and it sounded great. Well today I put a set of GHS Custom strings from Wyatt Custom Banjo Works and OH MY GOODNESS!! This thing is killer, I mean it sounds awesome! I can't even believe it is the same banjo. If you need strings check out Wyatt Custom Banjo Works here on the hangout or call Wyatt Custom Banjo Works at 501-278-9627. You'll be glad you did!

I heard my first banjo in 1983 listening to the Arkansas Edition play in the den of my Papaw Reece and Granny Dorothy's house. My Uncle Randall was the banjo picker and to me that was the pinnacle of stringed instruments to play in the whole band. I have been hooked on that sound ever since. It only took me 23 years to finally pick up my first banjo and start learning. I began when I was 26 and have been playing now for almost 11 years. I have had some help from my Uncle of course but it is kind of hard when we live 300+- a few miles apart. So I am mostly self taught. I have a beautiful wife who is a school teacher. We have 3 beautiful children together. I am the Pastor of Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church and have been since Novermber 2012. I really enjoy playing gospel bluegrass songs as often as I can as well as playing in church. Something I cherish is that I am playing the banjo that caught my ear back in 1983! My Uncle Randall fixed his RB 250 with a Tony Pass Block Birch rim and said play away!!!!! You can't beat a deal like that! I hope one day to be able to contribute to my Uncles banjo business Wyatt Custom Banjo Works. Happy Picking and thanks for reading
