(after hearing a cousin of mine,Tim Lindsey, timron, tearin one up)I learned to play the banjo in an icbm missile silo when i was in the air force station in little rock arkansas using mostly the earl scruggs book and a guy by the name of jerry hodge(great picker he was known for his fiddle playing more than his banjo)about 1986 i founded a group Shades of Blue after i got out of the air force and got back home.we stopped playing for a few short years but have playing again for the last 6 years or 2004 i entered a contest for the first time(trying to get our young guitar picker Ben Helson noticed)and i ended up being the 2004 ky state banjo picking champion.I also am the 2006 ky state champion. The band still is the important thing and we get some occasional help from James Arnett.we don't promote oursevles much. we are a good sound contemperary bluegrass band and do a lot of gospel and accapella numbers
