Mark Bossanyi is a multi-instrumentalist who plays and composes music across a range of genres from jazzy bluegrass and swing jazz and Balkan instrumental music to Cuban and Celtic music. He likes gritty, enigmatic and ironic, tongue-in-cheek lyrics. His eclectic music and songs derive from his kaleidoscopic background: his family members had moved to the UK and he spent his childhood surrounded by immigrant friends and their wealth of culture. He has lived for decades in both Western and Eastern Europe, soaking up the music that surrounded him wherever he lived. He has performed solo and in small bands such as the Bugarov Trio in the 1990s, the Bacillus Balkanicus Band, notably on its French concert tour in the summer of 2004, and the Bulgarian band Swing Regime. He arranges, records and produces his music together with a variety of musicians, vocalists and studios
