Started playing guitar 1964 and got a banjo a year later but have only become really serious about the banjo over the last year to eighteen months. I played on the English folk circuit in the sixtiesas one half of a duo called John and Winkle. We also did a lot of pub gigs playng a wide range or material. We were fulltime but I evntually went to college and on leaving played in various small groups with various musicians, Ian McCann and Mick French to name a couple. Apart from a brief spell a couple of years ago with a local folk band I have been a front room / back porch player for some time now.
