Bruce Miner / Plectrum Banjoist - Started playing in 1967 at nine years old. Was taught by Jon Martin, the lead Banjoist at what was then called The Red Onion in NYC. Would have my banjo lessons every other Tuesday night in the basement of this classic Banjo Parlor/Saloon in upper Manhattan until I was around fourteen. Would get home late on a school night with plenty of peanut shells in my shoes, after getting to listen to the first set while enjoying a Shirley Temple. Got married and started a career and family in 1985. Unfortunately, let (20) years go by without picking up the banjo once. Fortunately, re-ignited the passion in 2005 and have enjoyed playing once again. Hopefully will be a good retirement gig in about (14) years or so.
