Born in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, UK. Spent 23 years in the Royal Navy as a submariner, mostly on diesel boats, but ending up on a nuke. Always been interested in folk music, starting with the Dubliners and then branching off in all sorts of directions. Perform as a soloist singing mainly traditional and traditional style songs and, more recently, self penned material. Also play in a ceilidh/barn dance band - 'Fox Amongst the Chickens' - in the South-West of England. A keen attendee at sessions where I play tenor banjo as it can compete with the many accordions, accordeons and melodeons. Now working in IT.
