The world of fine banjo lovers was saddened to learn that Arthur Hatfield passed away on July 31 due to complications from lung cancer. Arthur was the man in charge at Hatfield Banjos, his fulltime gig since 2001 after picking up the banjo at a young age.
A longtime sponsor of the Banjo Hangout, he was a fine man who built fine banjos. One member said it well: "Arthur was the kindest, truest, gentlest man I'm ever likely to meet. I am privileged to have known him, and privileged to own a stunning banjo that he built."
You're invited to read the memorial thread and chime in with your own thoughts.

ReString Appalachia is going to give instruments back to people that lost them in the Texas Hill Country floods, and you can help. Not only that, you could win a Béla Fleck banjo by doing so!
ReString is raffling off a signed, one of a kind Gold Tone banjo prototype from Béla Fleck. The funds directly support acquiring, shipping, repairing and delivering instruments to those who no longer have them in the Texas Hill Country, as well as any disasters to come in 2025.

Raffle ends September 1st!
