Fender

From northyorkspaul on 7/21/2020 8:01:08 AM

Wow so confusing all these different models and specs....Is a fender deluxe decent?...Far as I can make out it's made in Korea in O2... Trying to find out what tone ring it would have...I know it will have been asked before but maybe some new info about!....Many thanks....

Tried a deluxe, really didnt like the neck, felt thick, and sticky. The MB250 is a decent banjo, and can be found pretty cheap.

Hi Paul. What banjo and what style are you currently playing? I think feel, tone and playability are my priority. Of course it is nice to own a high-end banjo, but not essential.

Hi Derek thanks for replying..I don't have a banjo yet....Played guitar for long time never banjo thinking of trying...Don't want a cheap nasty sounding one that may put me of learning but can't go above around £500 for a first instrument..I would be learning sort of bluegrass style and as accompaniment to singing...Loving Jens Kruger so if you tell me how to pick a banjo up and play like him right off that would be cool!... Thanks again..

If you like kruger and are a beginner then buy the "jens kruger banjo method for beginners dvd" for about 20 quid its very good, if you pay attention and stick with it you will be pickin tunes very quick, also if you go to the kruger brothers youtube channel he has done lots of recent beginner tutorials but you should still get the dvd.

As for the banjo I thought you would have one by now, Thomann have a decent harley benton for £125, I would by that and get practicing then save the rest of you money and save up for the RK-35 later on as its £815. the harley benton is miles better than the nasty plywood rim one i started on but was great to learn on and I still pick it after 8 years.
