Description
Warren Yates is an American Builder that is making Mastertone Style Banjos and doing a great job at that. This is a 2007 and also bears the number 006 on the plate inside the rim. This is a very early Yates Banjo and this is very clean with a nice hardshell case. This also has a radius fretboard which is a nice touch. This banjo looks great, plays great and sounds fantastic.
This has a 3 ply maple shell with a curly maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood and radiused with some really cool inlay going down the board. This inlay continues to the headstock.
The hardware is nickel and all original including a 20 hole tone ring and a one piece flange. This banjo has a strong pop and a very good volume, this banjo truly sounds fantastic. This also includes a hardshell case that says Yates Rattlesnake. I am not sure if that is an original hardshell case but it is really nice and the fact it says Yates is at least a nice touch.
Condition and Set up
This banjo is in fantastic shape. The finish all looks fantastic and fretboard and frets are clean with spikes at frets 7 and 9. All of the hardware is very clean and we did not clean this in our shop. This came in with this condition.
This has a very clean Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Yates radiused fretboard and the strings are new Huber Truetone .10’s. This banjo is a fabulous instrument that is in fantastic shape and set up very well.
