Description
Capture the sound of the “Duke of Drive”, Terry Baucom! Designed with Terry’s hard driving bluegrass style in mind, this incredible American Walnut banjo features a light weight bell bronze 20 hole Deering tone ring. Terry also chose the traditional Deering neck shape for optimum comfort and for the fast and accurate fretting demanded by his hard-driving playing style.
This banjo has a Walnut neck and Resonator with an Ebony fretboard. The fretboard has very sharp and very attractive inlays. This has all nickel hardware including a one piece flange. This banjo is all original. This is definitely a strong banjo with great volume that delivers a very good walnut tone.
This was used as a Demo at some type of show, possibly namm. Typically Manufacturers will use the best examples of a banjo as their Demo Model. This also has an original Deering Hardshell Case.
Condition and Set Up
This banjo is in fantastic shape with two blemishes. One is on the back of the headstock and the other on the back of the resonator. There is a nick at the top of the headstock and an impression in the finish on the back of the resonator. These affect nothing as far as function, are not very serious and cannot be seen while playing because they are on the back.
The rest of the wood is in fantastic shape. The hardware looks fantastic also. The frets and fretboard are in fantastic shape and there are spikes at frets 7, 9 and 10.
The original case is in great shape inside and out.
This has the original Deering Renaiissance head and a Scorpion Bridge with new Huber strings. This banjo is also set up well and sounds and plays very well. This banjo sounds incredible as a matter of fact.
