Description
Geoff Stelling is regarded as one of the finest banjo builders in the history of banjo. He has retired and no more Stelling Banjos are going to be made. This is a clean and all original BEAUTIFUL example of a Stelling Banjo. This is set up with an original case and ready to go. Plus this includes the original case and Free Shipping.
This has the original Stelling Rim with a curly maple neck and resonator. The fretboard is ebony with very attractive flower inlays. There is white w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator which has yellowed.
The hardware is nickel and all original and includes a Stelling One Piece Ribbon Flange and Stelling No Hole Tone Ring. This banjo is LOUD and truly pops. This is a gorgeous banger cannon that will excite you. This also includes an original hardshell case with some wear.
Condition
This banjo is gorgeous. The finish on the wood is clean and has been waxed to bring out a shine. The hardware is very clean and has been polished and also shines. The fretboard and frets are clean as well with spikes at frets 7,8,9, and 10.
The label on the rim has come off at some point but the serial number is there so I know it’s the original rim
The case has a lot of tolex worn off the back but the sides, front and inside are clean. This is absolutely a quality banjo and looks fantastic
Set Up
The banjo has a new Remo Frosted Head which we have set to 90. The bridge and strings are also new and the banjo has proper intonation and this is also a fantastic player. The Bridge is a Sosebee and the strings are Huber. This also has a professional set up so it really plays and sounds fantastic.
