This is a collaboration between me (Mark Hickler) and my cousin, Dave Gill.
Basically a Hickler rim with an Asian neck commissioned and designed by Dave Gill.
Vietnamese necks are incredibly beautiful and detailed with carved heels and more, but are they reliable? This neck has been stable for four years in Arizona. Therefore a stable as any neck I have ever made. Plus I will stand behind this product.
This is prototype number 8. The flaws include:
- The segments on the back of the resonator opened a little and I filled them with CA glue.
- I had to replace the first three frets which caused me to cut into the binding.
Specifications:
11" rim
26.25" scale, 22 frets
Silver Bell tonering
Gotoh tuners
Frosted head
24 shoe brackets
Internal resonator
