Really cool old banjo here. Amazingly loud and lightweight. Nice hex flange style 1.
The good: sounds and plays great. Great action and clear notes. Very loud in a jam and won't brake your back or bank account. Super cool vintage prewar Gibson 11" head tone hoop hex flange banjo. Comes with a blemished Lakota leathers strap, conversion "recording king" neck, new modern clamshell tailpiece fifth string tuner. The banjo has the original grover two tab tuners on the rk neck.
The bad: 5 the neck has a repaired crack as seen in the pics. Not the best cosmetical repair job but functional and stable. Thumbscrews are modern and don't match. Three are good plated, one is unusual nickel, not Gibson. I don't have a case for it.
The resonator has been refinished at some point. Has a matt finish now.
All in all a great banjo for the money. WAY better than a Chinese import in this price range. Great campfire or travel banjo.
